{"id":166,"date":"2024-07-18T16:14:45","date_gmt":"2024-07-18T15:14:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.curiouspastimes.co.uk\/?p=166"},"modified":"2024-07-18T16:19:34","modified_gmt":"2024-07-18T15:19:34","slug":"weapons-checking-and-bow-comp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.curiouspastimes.co.uk\/index.php\/2024\/07\/18\/weapons-checking-and-bow-comp\/","title":{"rendered":"Weapons Checking and Bow Comp (Event 3 2024)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Bow Safety and Weapons Checking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone who wishes to use a bow or crossbow of any description at Curious Pastimes must first take part in a Bow Safety session.<br>Bow Safety sessions will be held at:<br>Friday &#8211; 3:00pm<br>Saturday &#8211; 10:00am<br>Sunday &#8211; 10:00am<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please meet outside Event HQ for any of these sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please let us know if you plan to attend one of the sessions by completing this form:<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/Bb34kRthipeV687S6\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/6qcuCbhfHx3jRyYX8\">https:\/\/forms.gle\/6qcuCbhfHx3jRyYX8<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you pre-book for a session, your licence will be prepared ahead of time and your card will be ready to go on completion of the session.&nbsp; If you have not pre-booked, your card may not be available until the following day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a Curious Pastimes Archery group for anyone who may be interested in joining or if you have any questions about archery at Curious Pastimes.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/1148630478492403\/\"> http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/1148630478492403\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Weapons Checking:<\/strong>All weapons, shields and armour must be checked by a Weapons Checker before use to ensure they are safe.\u00a0 Weapons checking will take place in camps before Time-In on Friday, and again before any skirmishes.\u00a0 If an item is deemed to be unsafe or damaged, it is considered to have \u2018failed\u2019 a weapons check.\u00a0 Failed weapons, arrows or armour will be marked with a red tag &#8211; these items must not be used in the game under any circumstances, and should ideally be stored in an out of character area for the remainder of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traders&#8217; weapons will be checked prior to the event opening.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bow Safety and Weapons Checking.
